Rosamund Pike
In 1979, in London, England, actress Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike is the sole child of a classical violinist mom, Caroline (Friend), and a opera singer father, Julian Pike. The couple worked hard and she travelled extensively throughout Europe in her early years. Pike was born in Bristol and went to Badminton School. She then started acting at National Youth Theatre. Pike first made an appearance in a National Youth Theatre production "Romeo and Juliet". She was then signed by an agent after being spotted. Pike also began acting at the National Youth Theatre. The film she made her debut in was a huge-budget action thriller. But, her subsequent films were mostly independent films such as Promised Land (2004) and The Libertine (2004). She was also awarded the Best Supporting Actress award at The British Independent Film Awards. Pride & Prejudice (2005) was a film that featured Pike as one of the Bennet girls. A brief appearance in Hollywood film followed with the action-packed film Doom (2005) as well as the thriller Fracture (2007) However, she returned to smaller films with exceptional performances in three films: An Education (2009), Made in Dagenham (2010) as well as the lead role alongside Paul Giamatti in Barney's Version (2010).As she continued her stage work in England, Pike appeared in the spy spoof, Johnny English Reborn (2011) and also played the role as "Andromeda" in the epic sci-fi thriller, Wrath of the Titans (2012). She returned to action films with the female lead opposite Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher (2012).
